BUILD KILLER GLUTES LIKE TOP IPL BIKINI PRO, ANA LA BELLE
Interview By Ben Yosef | Michael Brooks Photography
IPL Bikini Pro Ana La Belle was at the top of her game last year. It all started at the 2016 IPL California Championship on May 7th in Sacramento, CA.
With great muscularity, symmetry, conditioning, standout presentation and a suit color that really popped against her skin tone, it was Ana’s total combined points in these rounds that sealed the deal as she won 1st place in Bikini Open Class C and earned her IPL Pro Card. Then it was on to her IPL Pro Debut at the West Coast Pro, four months later.
In one of the toughest IPL PRO Bikini lineups to date, La Belle nabbed 1st, earning her an IPL Pro Bikini title. Her year ended at IPL APEX, were she earned a respectable 3rd place among some of the best IPL Bikini Pros on the circuit.
Shortly after APEX La Belle revealed that she was not only pregnant with her first child, but also engaged to be married. WOW! What a year!
There is so much about Ana and her physique to celebrate. However, we decided to focus on her killer glutes and what she does to get them looking like this!
“AS FOR MY GLUTES… WELL WELL WELL. [LAUGHS] I WORK EXTREMELY HARD ON THEM.”
BEN YOSEF: First off, congratulations again on your marriage! And your baby on the way! I am so happy for you! You must be so excited about all this amazingness. How are you feeling?
ANA LA BELLE: Thank you so much! Yes, I am beyond blessed. After a successful year competing on stage, I have to say, being married to my best friend and now pregnant with our first child is the best reward yet. I feel like I’m on top of the world!
BEN: So, awesome. When we first put you on the cover, we had no idea that you were pregnant. And that cover image was taken at IPL APEX last November. So, I assume you were pregnant when you competed at APEX?
ANA: Yesssss! So, here is the deal… I was three weeks pregnant at APEX. I had no idea. No wonder I was having a tough time leaning out. It’s crazy to even think about it.
BEN: Wow! Well, you looked awesome at APEX! You are such an amazing competitor, with so many strong points. And your posing, presentation, and Model Walk are fire! [laughs] Another of those strong points are your glutes. And that is the topic of this cover story. [laughs] Everyone wants to know how you do it!
ANA: AHHHHH, this fires me up to get back on that stage again In 2018 for my post- baby transformation. I thank you for this incredible opportunity to be on the cover… Wow.
“MOST IMPORTANTLY, NUTRITION IS A MAJOR KEY. BUT ALSO GIVING YOUR GLUTES ATTENTION. WHATEVER YOU FOCUS ON WILL GROW.”
My posing, walk, and presentation definitely has a lot to do with my confidence. As for my glutes… well well well. [laughs] I work extremely hard on them. I did my research prior to entering the competition, knowing what the judges are looking for. I strived to become the best. And, I am so proud of my hard work.
BEN: Well, it’s obviously paying off! Let’s talk exercises. What are some of your favorites for glutes?
ANA: I love SPRINT Intervals. As former soccer player myself, It has helped me develop strong muscles and strength. My favorite two glute exercises would be Squats and Kick Backs with a resistance band. Plus, I’m pretty sure dancing AfroDance has helped!
BEN: What tips can you give to competitors out there who are struggling to develop a winning set of glutes?
ANA: Most importantly, NUTRITION is a major key. But also giving your glutes attention. Whatever you focus on will grow. By this I mean, training it separately from your other muscles.
BEN: You are now a Pro Bikini champion. There are so many competitors that have their hearts set and energies focused on trying to win a Bikini Pro Card. That is a dream come true for many. But, to win at the Pro level and have a title like that is just unfathomable for most. And to be honest, there are only a few titles to be won each year, so that makes this feat even more difficult to achieve.
“I MADE SOME MAJOR SACRIFICES AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, I DIDN’T GIVE UP. IN THE END, IT WAS ALL WORTH IT.”
All that being said, it is still possible. What encouraging words can you offer for girls out there who are pushing for that Pro Card and ultimately a Pro title?
ANA: GIVING UP ISN’T AN OPTION. keep pushing for it until you grow into that person you need to become that deserves such a badass title. It took me a whole year of competing. I made some major sacrifices and most importantly, I didn’t GIVE UP. in the end, it was all WORTH IT. You learn so much about yourself in this sport. You can’t skip the lessons. Every show is different and there’s ALWAYS room to grow. Even as a Pro myself, I’m still a work in progress. looking forward to stepping back on stage in 2018.
BEN: Inspirational words from a true champion! Any final thoughts before we go?
“I’M HONORED TO BE ON THE COVER AND HOPE MY STORY WILL INSPIRE SOMEONE OUT THERE TO KEEP PUSHING TOWARD THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL. IT’S WAY BETTER ON THE OTHER SIDE.” [smiles]
