“AFTER DOING SEVERAL SHOWS YOU’RE ABLE TO TWEAK YOUR NUTRITION AND WORKOUTS TO DIAL YOURSELF IN PERFECTLY.”

Slide45Man! Congrats on your most recent victory at the NFF Naturally Fit Supershow. You looked spot-on. Do you feel this was your best stage package to date?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the love. The Naturally Fit Supershow was definitely the best conditioning I’ve brought to the stage. After doing several shows you’re able to tweak your nutrition and workouts to dial yourself in perfectly. Felt amazing.

You are kicking some serious butt considering how recent your contest career began. What’s your secret?

Well, when I lost in my first contest, I realized exactly what it was going to take to achieve my goals and the huge sacrifices I would have to make to achieve those goals. The number one thing I attribute to my success would be my CONSISTENCY. Calculated nutrition for months and months without wavering off track, six days a week in the gym with no excuses. Making my goals my lifestyle day in and day out, consistently.

You seem to have the male modeling thing down. Where did you get your modeling skills, or does it just come naturally?

“I TRY TO RELAX AND REMEMBER WHY I’M THERE.”

Slide46[laughs] Thanks, Ben! I guess you could say it’s natural. I mean, I’ve never had any formal training. I just own it. Lots of people get timid and freeze up in front of the camera. I try to relax and remember why I’m there. But honestly, when I see my modeling shots all I see are the things I can improve on. We are our own worst critics and there is always room for improvement.

I hear ya. What are some of your short term, as well as long term goals within the fitness industry… like beyond the stage?

My long term goals are to own my own training facility and train some of the worlds best natural athletes. Someday! But as far as short term goals go, I want to continue to brand myself in the sport of Natural Bodybuilding and continue to give every ounce of that glory back to God on a daily basis.

The Men’s Physique division has picked up tremendous momentum over the past year or so. And it is receiving an increasing amount of respect even from some of the more hardcore Bodybuilders. One of the reasons the hardcore crew is warming up is seeing more and more shows where the legs are exposed, revealing more of the total look of the physique.

What’s your take on this?

“I WANT TO CONTINUE TO BRAND MYSELF IN THE SPORT OF NATURAL BODYBUILDING…”

Slide47I absolutely love the fact that we can show our legs and that more federations are adopting this! Some federations actually require you to wear board shorts to the knees. Why?! If you have a true passion for fitness you obliterate the gym on leg day.

What does your contest schedule look like for the rest of the year? And it better include the IPL Southern Championship on October 3rd in Stafford TX!

[laughs] My next show will be the NFF Poseidon in Galveston in September. I’m also trying out the Muscle Mania show in late October and may have to take a trip to Stafford in early October for the IPL Southern Championship!

Boom! NMI
